1- 1½ lbs pork tenderloin or chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch chunks
1 Onion, cut in chunks
1 lb Whole Mushrooms
1-2 Green Peppers, cut in chunks
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp pepper
¼ cup olive oil
½ cup lemon juice
2 Tbsp seasoned salt
2 Tbsp oregano leaves
Mix the marinade ingredients together. Place meat chunks and the marinade in a container with a lid and refrigerate overnight (or for several hours).
Then follow one of the cooking methods below:
1) Put meat on skewers alternating meat, onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Barbecue over medium coals or bake at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes. Use remaining marinade for basting.
2) For a quicker cooking method, cook the meat, marinade, and chopped onion in a large frying pan. When the meat is mostly cooked, add sliced mushrooms and peppers, and cook until they are soft. We like to eat this version of Greek Souvlaki over rice.
